We have said it already, this particulary part of Portugal is very suitable for hiking and biking. But there are other fysical activities to do in the region. You can hire canoes in several villages nearby, to explore the Alvôco and the Alva.

If you rather have your both feet on the ground, you can explore the rivers in another way and try to catch your diner. There are beautiful trouts and barbels in the rivers.

There is also a possibility to go horse-riding in the region. We can arrange the contact with one of the organisations.

In the Serra da Estrela you can go Deltaflying, in the Serra do Caramulo there is a possibility to slide from the mountain and in Viseu there is a good golftrack and it is only 45 minutes away.

For those who like activities but not in their holidays, there are some beautiful nature swimming places in Avô, São Sebastião da Feira and also in the Serra da Estrela. But of course you also can stay at the Quinta and have a nice swim in the Alvôco or just listen to the sound of the river and read a good book!

Beside the fysical activities, you can also enjoy a trip to Coimbra. This is a beautiful old city, with the oldest university of Portugal. Enjoy a walk through the small alleys and take a glas of region wine at the river Mondego. After that you can also go to the new shoppingcentre, Forum, at the other side of the river. Here you see a different part of Portugal and the view is one in a million! After shopping you can go to the old part of town again and have some dinner. Then it is time for the Fado, the real Coimbra Fado. In "A Capela" there are performances every night, starting at 21.30 Hours. Don't miss it when your in Coimbra. If you're in Coimbra, go also to the Roman and Celtic excavation of Conímbriga. It's beautiful!
